Lloyds TSB Mortgage Broker

Lloyds TSB split into Lloyds Bank and TSB in 2013. Find out what happened to your mortgage and what options are available today.

Lloyds TSB Mortgages — now Lloyds Bank

Lloyds TSB was created in 1995 through the merger of Lloyds Bank and the TSB Group. It was one of the UK’s largest high-street banks and a major mortgage lender. In 2008, Lloyds TSB acquired HBOS (Halifax Bank of Scotland) — not RBS, as the old content on this page incorrectly stated — in a government-facilitated rescue deal, creating Lloyds Banking Group. In 2013, following EU state-aid conditions relating to the HBOS acquisition, Lloyds TSB was split: the TSB brand was demerged and became an independent bank, while the remaining Lloyds TSB branches and accounts were rebranded as Lloyds Bank.

What if you have a Lloyds TSB mortgage?

If your mortgage was with Lloyds TSB before 2013, it is now held by Lloyds Bank. Your account number, mortgage terms, and conditions were unchanged at the point of rebrand. Contact Lloyds Bank for account queries, balance statements, or to discuss your rate options. TSB also exists as a separate bank but does not hold Lloyds TSB mortgage accounts — all mortgage business remained with Lloyds Bank.

Comparing your remortgage options

If your current Lloyds Bank mortgage deal is ending or has already reverted to the standard variable rate, you may be able to save money by remortgaging. Lloyds Bank is competitive in parts of the market, but rates vary widely between lenders. An independent whole-of-market broker can compare all available deals and confirm whether staying with Lloyds or switching gives you the better outcome. Use the form below to get started.
